Psalm 96

1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.

3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.

5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.

6 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.

9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth.

10 Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns."
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;

12 let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;

13 they will sing before the LORD, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his truth.

The main theme of this psalm seems to be telling the ALL nations to praise and worship God.

Sometimes we have this lingering thought: Is it really possible that ALL the nations will bow down and worship God? Well, in Philippians 2:9-11, it is mentioned so.

By our physical eyes, we can't see it happening of course. But by faith, faith in the Bible, faith in God, it is possible. That's why our God is a God of Miracles!

Another thought that came to my mind is that we need to win Singapore for Christ first. Our nation is in a very unique position. Despite being just a red dot, we've put ourselves on the world map. Look at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) which we're going to host in 2010. Look at how our Singapore Airlines (SIA) has such great influence in the world aviation industry.

Bottomline is God has blessed Singapore tremendously. It is really time to win Singapore for Christ, and the nations around us can be blessed and worship God as well.

I'm committed to pray for Singapore. Let's start first by praying for our government leaders. PM, MM, SM, DPM all remain the same. Check out the other appointments at this webpage.

Things to ponder
1. Pray for the Love Singapore churches to rise up and work together as a body of Christ>
2. Pray for Singapore to be saved.
3. Pray for our government leaders.
4. Pray for Singapore to be a blessing to other nations in Asia.
