In fact, in Psalm 146, it is very clearly stated. Our God is also King of the underdogs - those down and out.

8 the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous.
9 The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
For people like me who are used to living comfortably, I think sometimes, God becomes my secondary source of comfort. This is because of all the good things that I enjoy in life now.
However, for those that are down and out - the poor and the needy, God may be their ONLY source of comfort and strength. Their relationship with God can be way more intimate than mine.
There is something for me to learn from the so-called underdogs. For all we know, the real underdogs may be people like me - who are used to comfortable life.
