1 I rejoiced with those who said to me,
"Let us go to the house of the LORD."
2 Our feet are standing
in your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.
4 That is where the tribes go up,
the tribes of the LORD,
to praise the name of the LORD
according to the statute given to Israel.
5 There the thrones for judgment stand,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
"May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels."
8 For the sake of my brothers and friends,
I will say, "Peace be within you."
9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,
I will seek your prosperity.
As we are now in the 2nd focus of the year: Rebuilding and Restoring Relationships, it's really divine that Psalm 122 really talks about doing things together. For instance, let us go to the house of the Lord - v1; Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem - v2; That is were the tribes go up - v4.
The last two verses also remind us to do things for the sake of our brothers and friends.
The question that comes to my mind is "What can I do to make another brother succeed?"
Pastor YC has laid down 3 simple steps for us.
1. When someone slips, restore him gently.
2. When someone is overloaded, carry each other's burden.
3. Everyone has to do his part.
Things to ponder
1. How is your r/s with the rest of the members in the cell? Rate 1 to 10 (10 means very good).
2. Can you think of some things you can do to bless another brother/sister?
3. Pray and ask God for a heart to make your cell brother/sister succeed.
