1 Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the LORD strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;
the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11 The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace.
The psalmist started the psalm by reminding us that our God is almighty. He has power and authority over every people, every nation.But not just that, our God is also in control over all the "floods" in our lives (verse 10b). God allows difficult circumstances in our lives so that our characters can be molded to be more like Him.
When we enthrone Him in our lives, He promises us strength & peace.
These few days, I had not enjoyed much peace. There were many things that happened, ranging from ministry, school work & family. My prayer today is the serenity prayer. Lord, I enthrone You.
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Things to ponder
1. On the average, how much peace do you experience in your daily life? Are you always flustered, agitated? Give a rating of 1 to 10 (10 means most peaceful!).
2. What are the things that causes you NOT to have peace? Give 2 specific examples.
3. Pray and ask commit these things to the Lord. Enthrone Jesus in your heart.

1. answer: 7. I feel that life is indeed stressful, full of turmoil and it is really difficult to find true peace in such pandemonium. However, i would like to add that true peace comes from within. I personally know that God is always with me in whatever i do, thus i find true peace in serenity in him.
2. Things which would cause me to not have peace would too much stress in school life- assignments, projects, homework, deadlines.
Prayer:
Dear God, please help me to find that special peace which comes from you. Even as i live in a world of chaos and pressure, of troubles, worries and adversities, i pray LORD that you would give me serenity in my daily living as you are the "prince of peace" (Isaiah 9:6). You are Shalom God, only through can inner peace be obtained. LORD, grant me strength and inner peace, so that i can be a living testimony for your namesake. Thank you, in jesus name i pray, Amen.

I'd say I'm experiencing a 6 now. Recently I've had some things going on in my life that've been turning my emotions topsy-turvy, like projects gone horribly awry. But all the time, I've also known that although my surroundings might be pressurising me, I've always had source of comfort in the form of Jesus Christ. No matter where I'll ever end up, God will always be there to comfort me. =).
2. What are the things that causes you NOT to have peace? Give 2 specific examples.
Things that cause me to not have peace are things like emotional unrest among people dear to me, like my friends and family. When people quarrel, anger rubs off on the people around them, and therefore makes me feel unpeaceful as well.
Another thing that causes me to not have peace is stress from school life, the bane of students worldwide.
My prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for all the times you've granted me peace. Through all the troubling times I've been through, You've always been there telling me it's all alright, and that with You, anything is possible. Lord, thank you for all the support you've given me all this while. I pray that You will bless me with peace, so that I will have the strength to stand tall and strong as an ambassador of Christ, and be a real life testimony of Your work in us. I just want to commit myself into your hands, and in Jesus' name I pray. Amen!
